Our "Fav Song Of The Week" this time is "Save My Soul" by The Wimple Winch from this week's TW show. It's a cool fuzz guitar screamer, great for Halloween parties! Another great 60s garager from the TW this week is "Out of Sight, Out of Mind" by The Marauders, check it out please! Also check out the new farfisa organ cover song "The Smell of Incense" by McFadden's Parachute, its a cool garage psyche masterpiece! Two non-garage tunes worth mention are "His Latest Flame", a great Elvis rocker, and "You'll Never Be Mine", a synth new wave dance song.
The Underground Garage featured bands from San Francisco this week. Check out "Little Girl" by the Syndicate of Sound if you've never heard this garage hit often played on the oldies stations. Little Steven also played the first song on the first Grateful Dead album, "The Golden Road". There is a REAL Garage Rocker on that album called "Creampuff War". It sounds like nothing else the Dead ever did and even if you don't generally like the Dead, you should buy this first CD if you like Garage and the 60s West Coast sound.

Our "Fav Song Of The Week" this time is "Outside Chance" by The Turtles. It's from the Underground Garage and the quality is OK but not perfect. This song was written by Warren "Werewolves of London" Zevon and covered very well by the Chesterfield Kings in the early 80s. There is another Turtles song on the Teenage Wasteland this week called "A Walk in the Sun", it's also a good 60s garager.
Wow! The Bangles have a new CD out! "Single By Choice" was played on this week's TW and it's a great song! Check it out.
The UG playlist given on their website is not accurate. Little Steven played 3 songs off the new Iggy Pop CD in the middle of the show, which aren't on the official UG playlist. Our version of the playlist shown below is accurate!
I know Robert Palmer wasn't a garage rocker, but he was a cool artist. Our sister site, LookingForClues.com was named after one of his songs. Read a moving tribute article about him HERE, thanks! Our "Fav Song Of The Week" this time is "Hey Joe" by the Leaves. It's one of those guitar songs that every garage band learned in the 60s. It's a lot faster and more manic than the version that was Jimi Hendrix's first hit single. This singer sounds like he actually DID shoot his old lady! The point of the song is that infidelity causes real pain to the betrayed partner, in some cases enough to spark violent revenge.
