Garage Rock Radio News And Reviews from May 2003

May 25, 2003 shows - Here's a message from my good friend Gator:

hey mr bill i just read your website. it was really cool .i thought i would like to tell your readers about the new dvd by the electric prunes " rewired". I thought that the music great and the lighting was very psyhedelic,,,,,but they used the same style for every and of the songs . of course the best song was " I had to much to dream (last night)" it was great to see this song done live. they have some new songs also. the only regret for me was the stage presence was lacking "energy" i would rate it overall an "8" some other dvd,s that i have bought that i think that if you like 60,s music then you have to check out are at classic rock-legends.com. i have just watchted and very much enjoyed "wishbone ash" avery good quality both audio and visualy dvd. i recomend this to all garage rockers . " wishbone ash was the first concert i ever attended , at a place called " pirates world " theme park that was in dania beach, fla in the late 60,s and early 70,s they used to have concerts there every weekend with bands like jefferson airplane, grand funk railrode, alice cooper, and many more also at www.classic-rocklegends.com. is about 5 or 6 dvd.s by "uriah heep" the one i got is called the "magicians birthday party " this an excellent dvd and they sound as good today as they did " yesterday" this web site has agreat line of classic rock that bring back a lot 60,s memories. im almost 50 now but i still love to rock. so bill keep up the good site you have and keep rockin. your rocking friend gator. p.s. if any body out there would like to exchange concert memories or if you rember you first and greatestconcert venues then contact me at my e mail address gatortail@comcast.net thank you all

Our Fav Song Of The Week this week (if it uploads, I'm over my 100MB server space...) is "Shame" by The Kings Ransom. Its a guitar garage song with what may be a 12 string guitar. The UG theme for this week was the year 1960, since this was his 60th show!

May 10, 2003 - This week's Fav Song Of The Week is a garage classic that was first comped back in the early 80s. I taped it from a Mod Monday show in September 1983. Its "A Someday Fool" by M G & The Escorts, from Canada. Its about a man who loves a woman, but she just doesn't need him anymore, poor guy! Our singer is having a nervous breakdown right before our eyes (ears). The driving beat starts the song with "Pretty Woman" drums, the organ amp is either on 10 or fed through a fuzzbox. Check this one out please! Thanks to Bill Kelly for playing this one for me!

The Underground Garage featured bands from Australia and New Zealand this week.
