March 27, 2003 - This week's shows contained several of the big Garage/pop hits of the 60s. TW played "7 and 7 is" by Love, and "L'il Red Riding Hood" by Sam the Sham & The Pharaohs. UG played "Wild Thing" by The Troggs, "Don't Bother Me" by The Beatles, and the psychedelic gem "Hurdy Gurdy Man" by Donovan. These are all great songs and if you haven't heard any of them, please go to the TW or UG web sites and listen to them on archive! We picked a short little guitar and organ Garage rocker as our Fav Song Of The Week, "Fall Of The Queen" by MacPhadens Parachute. Bill has played it the last few weeks on TW and its growing on me! Please click on it below in the reviews, or on the MP3 page, to listen to it! Thanks!

March 21, 2003 - Bill Kelly raised over $10,000 again last Sunday (3/16/03) during his TW show! Congratulations to Bill and WFMU on their great Marathon success!

We have another 10 this week! Its "Liar Liar" by The Castaways. A great garage/frat rocker with a cool organ and falsetto vocal chorus. If it was my band, I'd have added a longer guitar solo in the middle, but aside from that quibble, its Great! One of the few Garage songs you might hear on the local oldies station. The MP3 on our MP3 page is from the 20K RealAudio stream from the UG archives and unfortunately the quality is NOT very good.

March 13, 2003 - The 3/2/03 Underground Garage archive and playlist were finally added to their web site early this week. Our review of that show is below, after the UG 3/9/03 review.

Bill Kelly raised over $10,000 last Sunday (3/9/03) during his TW show! This is the most he has ever raised! Congratulations, Bill! We pledged during the show and were mentioned ON THE AIR, click HERE to hear what was said about THIS WEB SITE! We can't wait to receive our copy of the Teenage Wasteland Premium CD!

The theme of the 3/9/03 UG was Detroit. They played a song I have always loved and I've rated it a 10! It's "Journey to the Center of the Mind" by The Amboy Dukes (Ted Nugent's first band). Its the first track on side 2 of an album of the same name that came out in 1968. That entire side is really one long song and I highly recommend that you buy the CD and listen to it through headphones, you will not be disappointed! Click HERE to look at the CD on Amazon.com. NOTE: The MP3 of "Journey..." that we added to our MP3 page is from the 20K RealAudio stream from the UG archives and the quality is NOT very good. I debated about whether to even choose it as "Our Fav Song Of The Week" but the guitar part sounds clear and it really IS a great song! If you fall in love with it, buy the CD please.

The theme of the 3/2/03 UG was Martin Scorsese and it wasn't posted on the web until last Tuesday, so the review is here under this News And Reviews entry.
