From this week on, I've decided to list all the songs played on the TW and UG, rather than just those I've rated 4 or higher.
From the 2/23/03 TW show, I've rated a song a perfect 10 for the first time! That song is "Little Boy Blue" by Tonto and The Renegades. This 1966 song has everything that I like in a Garage tune. The instruments are drums, fuzzy guitar, organ and bass guitar. The vocals are a heartfelt lead with nice backing vocals. The lyrics are simple and positive, about a boy who wants a girl. The performance is fairly tight, not perfect but close enough for Garage! The mix is great, each instrument is distinct and the vocals are perfectly intelligible. My complements go out to these Michigan teens (at the time) for creating this Garage masterpiece! Click on the song in the table just below or in the MP3 page to listen to it, please! You can read more about Tonto and The Renegades at www.myfirstband.com.
The UG show of 2/23/03 was a salute to The Beatles' first movie, "A Hard Day's Night". Along with some great early Beatles tunes, we have 2 great songs - "Once Before" and "I Ain’t Gonna Eat Out My Heart Anymore" - which are already on our MP3 page.

On this week's TW show (2/9/03), Bill played a sneak preview of his "Marathon CD". Click here to hear it! Over at the UG, the 2/9/03 show was an updated repeat of the 11/10/02 show which was a tribute to Frank Barsalona. Frank was a major booking agent. The play list has some errors in it! After "Substitute", Steven played "Fools Gold" by Graham Parker and the Rumour, but its not in the playlist. Later in the playlist, we find "Give It To Me" by J. Geils Band, but it wasn't played!
